UPLOADS (Understanding and Preventing Led Outdoor Accidents Data System) is now a cloud based web app that can be accessed from any computer, smartphone or tablet to enter incident reports, even when in the field where internet or phone reception may not be available.
The system can automatically generate reports on provided incident data, hugely reducing the administration processes of completing incident report forms. The system also allows industry benchmarking to compare your incident data, with other similar organisations.
The Outdoor Council and its members have been involved both financially and time-wise with this research project, which is a collaboration between the Outdoor Council of Australia; Australian outdoor education & recreation associations, providers, government departments, researchers at the University of the Sunshine Coast, Monash University and Federation University Australia.
More information about the project can be found at the following website; https://uploadsproject.org/uploads-software-tool/
A series of information sessions have been conducted through webinars, which can be viewed at the following link; https://uploadsproject.org/uploads-app-training-materials/
We encourage as many people as possible to register to use the application, as it will be free for use for the next two years. Not only will it assist organisations to meet their WHS responsibilities, but will furthermore contribute to the National Incident Database, making the delivery of outdoor adventure activities and programs safer for all.
