The Board of the Outdoor Council of Australia (OCA) has recently undertaken a review of the National Outdoor Leadership Registration Scheme (NOLRS). After significant deliberations the decision has been taken to phase out the NOLRS. The NOLRS will be maintained as a registration scheme until 30 June 2021.
We thank the many outdoor organisations and leaders across Australia that have supported the scheme over the years.

The framework is a national document. The implementation for rebooting outdoor activity is a State responsibility and individual State jurisdictions will provide guidance on recommencing various levels of activity participation with regard to local epidemiology, risk mitigation strategies and public health capacity. This has been provided as advice to the Government and to seek their endorsement.
Therefore any outdoor activity provider should check with their local State Public Health and other statutory authorities to ensure that they are aware of, and comply with, the latest local health directives.
Education regarding COVID-19 risk mitigation strategies will help to promote and set expectations for the required behaviours prior to recommencing activities. Listed below are some useful online resources from Government, public health and other statutory authorities on education materials and options available.
