The Outdoor Council of Australia exists to lead the Outdoor Sector in Australia, support national and state organisations in outdoor recreation and outdoor education and other sector partners to ensure equitable access to safe, high quality and sustainable outdoor recreation and outdoor education.
Organisations who are seeking to join the OCA are required to submit an application outlining their reasons for wanting to join and support the OCA, demonstrating the compatibility of their organisation with the aims and principles of the OCA in addition to any further documentation or justification they believe will support their application. It is suggested that this application be as thorough as possible to reduce the time spent researching the applicant organisation.
Membership applications will be considered at the next scheduled meeting of the OCA Board, or if a meeting is not scheduled for more than one month following receipt of an application, a resolution without a meeting will be organised to facilitate a decision. Cheques and credit card details for payment of application fees will not be processed until an affirmative decision has been determined by the Board. If an application is refused by the Board, and payment has been transmitted via electronic funds transfer, the application fee will be refunded to the applicant.
